Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions about translations for Germany

For German authorities, courts, schools and most employers the translation must be certified by a sworn court interpreter — with a seal and a signature. For internal or informational use a standard translation is sufficient.

An Apostille is issued on the original document, not on the translation. If a German authority asks for one, obtain the Apostille on the original first and then we prepare the certified translation. We can translate the Apostille itself as well.

The standard turnaround is 1–3 working days, and urgent translations can be ready within 24 hours. The exact deadline is confirmed together with the price, after we review the document.

Yes. A sharp photo taken with your phone or a scanned PDF is enough. Photograph the whole page without shadows or glare, and send every page if the document has more than one.

The translations are produced by a permanent court interpreter and translator appointed by a competent court in the Republic of Croatia. Requirements can differ from one German authority to another, so we recommend checking before you submit your documents whether the authority concerned requires additional certification, an Apostille or other formal conditions.
